: Are printers disposable now adays? :

I asked that question because my last printer that I purchased 8 months ago an HP D2460 is already jamming papers frequently and that is soooooo annoying! Most of the printers are light weight now and not for heavy duty printings unlike my Hp deskjet that i used for almost 7 or 8 years eventhough I used refill cartridges on it.

The salesman at Greenhills told me that printers are disposable now a days ever since people used refill inks for their printers (i'm one of those ..lol). Can't blame me I save a lot by doing this. I purchased a new printer HP 910 (i love HP products) yesterday in Greenhills and I will NOT use refill the cartridges anymore on this one. I hope this will last for a longer time.

Just not satisfied

I have been taking a lot of photos lately and trying to make artistic shots and all but frankly, i am not satisfied with them. I am using a Canon 400d DSLR  but some of my pics (esp. in low lights) don't come out sharp as I wanted it to be. I know I can sharpen it up at Photoshop but I am just curious if I can get a photo so sharp w/o manipulating it on Photoshop. 

I also reckon that it has something to do with my lens, I am currently using my kit lens which is only 18-55mm but in fairness, i got some good shots using it though. I guess i need new good lens perhaps a fix 50mm lens with wide aperture or maybe a telephoto one?

Gosh, I am just reading reviews of the new Canon 450d and the Nikon d60 and it makes me want to upgrade immediately. I am still holding on I can still wait next Christmas..

Have you noticed???

Lately teens and kids’ Christmas wish lists are getting expensive each year isn’t it?? Common wish are x-box, psp3, i-pods, and other cool gadgets like cellphones with the unlocked phone feature where they can used various GSM-compatible carriers worldwide and even laptops.

Geez, adults are sometimes getting crazy, just yesterday my two 10 yr. old nephews wanted an advanced gameboy each as gifts and they never thought it was that expensive. We don’t want them to indulge also to too much games bec. it can also affect their studies so I’m not sure if they are getting that this year. I also reckon that we should not give kids toy guns/swords as gifts, i don't think that is a nice one to give them.

Can we go wireless?

If you could only see how many of those bulk cable wires I have here in my internet café then for sure you’d say, wow that’s a lot. I only have 8 desktop pc right now but there are many cables and wires attached to one another to be able to have it on a network. I also have a scanner, 2 printers and more that are attached to my server. Sometimes I just wish it’ll be wireless in the future so that it will be more comfortable and it won’t look like an octopus wiring.

Oh goodness me, I was talking to sis in Sydney on YM yesterday afternoon and she told me she just bought her new iMac desktop from Apple with 24 inch monitor.I could not help but envy her but hehe I will have the chance to use it next year bec. i will have my vacation over at their house woooohooo.

Just take a look at the sleek design and that is too die, isn't it? There's no cpu bec. it is built in the monitor.. wow as in wow. My HP Pavilion computer will look like nothing beside it hahahah.

Buy your digi cam

As you all know I am a new proud owner of Canon 400d RebelXti DSLR cam and I know I'll be taking great pictures soon. I hope I will have more time to shoot a lot of photos though. We all know that owning a digital camera these days are the best way to capture our photos w/o worrying about films. There are many digi cams on the market today and you can compare prices at Savebuckets for your reference. I've got a new toy!!

Oh i almost forgot to share this. Anyway, last Monday i went to Quiapo in Manila with a friend to buy my 1st DSLR cam. I asked Wanda, a co-bebot where can i buy DSLR with a good price and she told me that Hidalgo is photographer's haven.

I am so happy to buy this CANON EOS 400D (Rebel Xti) kit with a free 1GB Kingston Compact Flash out of my blogging money as a birthday gift for myself, isn't it great huh? I also got a Lowepro camera bag, extra battery and a SANDISK Extreme III 4GB Compact Memory.

I am still reading the manual about the different settings and all i will just share photos in the future using this cam, right now i am so happy and exciting in tinkering with it.

Portable DVD player

We took a short vacation at my dad’s hometown when my uncle and aunt arrived from LA in May. It was a 6 hour (including traffic) long drive up North and of boy it seems like forever hahaha. It was early morning when our convoy left our town and just stopped by to have breakfast in on e of the fast food chains along the hi-way.

The older kids became cranky at the other car while at the other kids at van where I was in was happily watching their fave cartoon (gosh Sponge Bob) at the DVD player. Well at least they don’t bother us adults who keeps on chatting to ease our boredom. We are very happy because our portable portable DVD player at the van serves it purpose. It kept the kids behaved and busy hahaha.

My b-day gift for myself

Wooohooo my birthday is coming next month and it is always special day just for me. I always see to it that I will have a day at the salon to pamper myself, have a hair cut, hairspa or hair color. I also made it a point to shop for clothes and accessories as a gift to myself, I deserve it you know. I wanted to be different this year since I am already hitting the big 40 (yay!!) so I thought I wanted to give myself something special (material). At first I wanted to buy my 1st diamond ring (it’s true yay) since I don’t buy my own jewelry but my sis Joy told me that it’s not practical to do so. I also thought it’s pretty expensive and I will go crazy if I will rob when I am wearing that (you know naman here).

Since I am into digital scrapooking and I love taking pics, I decided I will just buy my 1st DSLR, probably a Canon or Nikon. I know it’s pricey too but I reckon it will be worth it. I will be hunting for good prices in Hidalgo in Quiapo soon to check on the price. Yay I’m getting excited now!

Gifts pouring in....

It's was a very exciting and fun day yesterday. My uncle and Aunt from LA arrived after 2 years for their vacation here. They arrived 5:30 am via PAL and they have tons of luggages that include gifts for all of us.

We are all excited to see them and vice versa, the kids could not wait for their gifts as my aunt opened her luggages. Shoes, cosmetics, toiletries, wrist watches, bags for the kids, cellphones, chocolates and lots more are pouring in. We are all very thankful for their gifts to all of us bec. they are always generous.

I got so excited when my Aunt handed me my new digital camera that i am waiting for. They (my aunt and uncle) gave me CANON POWERSHOT A550 and oh boy i love it. It may not be the latest model nor a SLR but the best thing is that it is a gift that i will cherish and it is compatible with Vista. I am still reading the manual so that i will know more about its features.

I will be very busy for the next couple of weeks bec. for sure we are all going out of town to have a lil vacation and fun. Gosh life is so sweet sometimes hehe . I will update ya all from time to time and i will post pictures later of course using my new digi cam.

This is my next project!! I want to buy this Wacom tablet that i can use in making digital designs. I know almost all digi designers have this already and i am still way behind. I will save again to get this hopefully in July. It costs around P5,000+ depends on the model. The store where i bought my pc sells this tablet and they showed me how to use it and i think it is great. It has pencils, pens, markers, oils, acryllics, crayons, chalks, pastels, air brushes...

Yikes i want this badly!!!!
