: Road Widenings :

I have noticed lately that there are so much going on in our streets these past few days and it turned out to be the road widening project of our government. This aims to widen the road so that motorists will have a little convenience while driving. You see our streets were already too narrow, residents nearly occupied the roads that is suppose to be for the vehicles. Right now, DPWH is starting to clear the sidewalks and repairing the streets.

The 15m mark is still up and i guess all the towns here in our province will be affected. All those establishments or residence that will pass by the 15m mark will be destroyed or disassembled clearing way for the widening. I reckon this is a good effort of the government and i have seen in Pasig they are doing the same. Hopefully we can have lesser traffic and clearer sidewalks in the near future, they just need to implement it.

: NAIA 3, opening soon !! :

Wow, finally i heard on the news that the NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport) Terminal 3, will soon open later at the end of this month. If you still remember this is the very controversial issue way back 10 years ago and finally I think the issue has been ironed out.

They show footages of the new airport on TV and oh boy it was so huge high tech and world class already. There are many booths now esp. in the immigration section and the facilities and decorations can now be compared to major airports worldwide. It is about time to open it bec. the old airport is so small, ugly and dirty already.

Although the NAIA3 is opening this end of the month, it is open only for domestic flights since it will be a test opening.
Tourists and balikbayans will not be proud of our new airport. I myself could not wait to pack my luggage again and go back to Sydney so I can see the place and experience the service that the new airport will be offering to travelers.

: I Felt an Earthquake :

I was watching "Sharon" last night at round 830 pm when I noticed that my body was kinda moving or something. I thought I have muscle spasm or whatever but i finally realized it has an earthquake when it lasted for about 3-5 seconds. Only my mom and I felt it while my sister in law and bro never felt it. Perhaps they are so busy with what they are doing. It was about intensity 2 in our area while intensity 4 in our provinces. I am glad that no on is hurt since it is just a slight tremor.

NOTE:
There are rumors from e-mail ongoing about a big 8.1 earthquake that will happen on July 18, PHIVOLCS Chief say that we should NOT believe rumors about it since no one can really predict and say the exact date when an earthquake is going to happen. READ MORE ABOUT IT

: Mighty Frank hits Phils. :

Early morning about 4 am yesterday Sunday I was awakened by the loud gusty sounds of the wind. I look over my window and saw the trees bending over and heard some crackly sounds over the neighborhood. I prayed for a while and I knew it was typhoon Frank already wreaking havoc over our province. At around 4:30 am the electricity went off and I stood up to get my lil flashlight. I could not sleep bec. of the sound of the wind and it was a bit scary.

Morning came and we all saw that banana trees were down leaves and other debris all around our neighborhood. We are all fine and there was no flood in our area. We all just stayed at home watching news and doing nothing ..lol

We also heard in the news that a ship sunk and it was just saddening. MV Princess of the Stars sunk in Romblon carrying over 700 passengers including crew. Many have died for sure but there were survivors who could tell what really happened.

The rest of the country is under state of calamity, there's no classes today on Metro Manila, Rizal and other provinces. Read more news HERE

Yay earthquake!!

It was exactly 12:25 on my clock when an earthquake shook us here in Pinas. I was in front of my pc when that happened and i thought i am just dizzy or something. My customer and I looked at each other and i said there's an earthquake. It only lasted for about 5 secs. and i heard it was an intensity 3 or 4. My mistake is i run outside to let my mom and others know that is has earthquake, i just dizzy afterwards.

My sis-in-law who is a high school teacher went home early today bec. classes were dismissed bec. of the quake. It was quite strong at the school and building (4th floor) where she is teaching. I hope in some other places no one is hurt.. NEWS HERE

Another explosion!

The Glorrietta bombing incident a few weeks ago was not yet resolved and here another bombing occurred just hours ago happen at the building of the Batasang Pambansa injuring several Congressmen and their staff. Many were rushed to the hospitals for they suffered blast injuries all over the body. This is really alarming since politicians are the ones targeted now. They incident is still under investigation since it only happened few hours ago. I was watching "Marimar" show on TV when a flashing news appeared talking about the explosion. I just hope not many are injured.

I went to the voting precinct (my former elementary school) with my brothers and sis-in-law to vote. Actually i really have no plans of voting today but they encourage me to do so, to give more points to the candidate we want.

And so we went of and we find our room we no difficulty. It took me only about 2 or 3 mins. to finish my voting, yeah that is fast bec. i know who will I vote and there are no voters inside the room. Right at this moment we still don't know who won as our Barangay Captain but we just wish our candidate will win. Did you vote?

Storm HANNA is in

OMG tropical storm Hanna is definitely in our country. PAGASA, our weather bureau already announced that it will be a strong typhoon to watch out like Milenyo of last year. Hanna already showed its strength last night and it was raining so hard when i'm about to sleep.

Right now, it is raining hard, it is wet , and gloomy outside. I hope this typhoon will not badly hit our country again as many will be affected esp. those living in low lying areas and squatter areas.

This pic is the street in front of my store, the rain water already starts to get high but the good thing is that it will subside easily once the rain will stop.

I also heard on the news that most of the province are Signal No. 1 now including ours. In some provinces many passengers are already stranded.

For those in low lying areas and near creek, pls. do take extra care already.

Erap GUILTY !!!

Former Pres. Joseph Estrada was found guilty for the crime of PLUNDER but acquitted for perjury. He was sentenced of Reclusion Perpetua or 40 years imprisonment by judges of the Sandigan Bayan this morning around 9 am. He is also asked to pay millions of pesos, his son Jinggoy (a senator) and lawyer Eduardo Serapio were found not guilty.

The news was on him again as the nation waits for the verdict. This is a sad day for Erap family and supporters but a big and happy day for those who hates him.

Here is an excerpt form GMA News TV :

The Sandiganbayan found Estrada “guilty beyond reasonable doubt" for plunder for receiving P545-million in protection money from operators of the numbers racket jueteng; for diverting P130-million in the tobacco excise tax share of Ilocos Sur; for receiving P189.7-million kickback from Belle Corp. for the purchase of P1.8-billion worth of shares of stocks and for maintaining a P3.23-billion “Jose Velarde" account.
